Green and Plenty

Year 1914, t’was headlining
“It’s the War To End All Wars” coming
Since then 90 years have past
No we’re not too late

I never tire of dreamin’
Nor have problems sleepin’ in on a Saturday
Working hard saving my ass
Ain’t it looking great

I see what’s going on
Only fear denies it
Whatever’s going wrong
My love don’t hide it
I am your dream that came to be
I am with you
Are you with me?
To realize, to wonder
Not to be- and still exist
She and I, all born free
In the land of green and plenty.

She wore tight-like jeans
He’s turned to We’s
All her men faded away
Even stoner boy found God
And was born again
Hell I embrace the Holy Spirit
It warms strong inside my chest
Get it Gee it’s us
Come on let’s do our best.

While your sons and daughters march off to war
What makes your kind of justice
Different than before
Voters sit at home
Drink a beer and catch the game
I could get caught up too, spin in it
Let my evening news dictate
Spend this time I have pointing fingers
Trying to place the blame.
